Beautiful Soup documentation | Entity Conversion
This had been bothering me on Pop Secrets for a while. If a feed contains HTML entities then they will be shown to the user instead of being converted.
By first converting all HTML entities to unicode and then letting Django convert it back to HTML entities I am ensuring that everything looks correct. This may seem redundant but it is the safest method I could come up with.
BeautifulSoup is my swiss army knife.
